OVERVIEW

Gambia, the smallest country in mainland Africa, reside in the western of Africa. It is situated on the Atlantic Coast at the Bulge of West Africa and is in the Savannah Region. Gambia has had relatively strong economic performance in recent years with the average annual GDP growth of around 6 percent. The overall poverty rate has made some positive progress in the past decade.

Today, Gambia’s major economic contribution comes from tourism and agriculture industry. Going forward, the country plans to restore growth and macroeconomic stability, improve service delivery, and develop governance and institutional efficiency.
