OVERVIEW

Located on the borders of  the Mediterranean between Egypt and Jordan; Palestine is a lower middle-income country (Mainly WestBank) that is facing a wide range of economic turmoil in Gaza Strip due to the political situation.

In the recent year, the Palestinian Authority has been remarkably successful in building Palestinian public institutions. Also illiteracy has almost been eliminated and there is a good standard of health care. Key planning and governance systems are in place and the West Bank has become a safer place under the rule of law, primarily thanks to security and judiciary trainings and reforms. The major challenge facing Palestine is the Gaza Strip blockade and the restrictive construction policies in Jerusalem.
